McPherson guitars have acquired a reputation with players a crossed every genre where six strings are played for quality craftsmanship, beauty, and, most importantly, mind-bending tone. This McPherson Tone is so flawless, yet somehow still manages to carry eons of character in every note. We have literally seen people double take when they hear these guitars strummed for the first time. https://youtu.be/-rvwN5XqCtI The secret to Matt McPherson's legendary tone is a pioneering sense of innovation, infused with a reverence for quality and craftsmanship that is a bedrock of the luthier's trade. From their workshop in Sparta, Wisconsin, McPherson Guitars consistently puts out guitars that attract longing looks and produce envious tone, with their trademark offset sound holes emitting an angelic choir of tone that will leave your ears hungry to hear more of it. Nonetheless, the cantilevered neck that is seen on a McPherson Guitar is an unusual attribute for any guitar to have. In fact, it is most often seen on violins, violas, cellos, and string basses. The cantilevered neck is special because the neck does not extend beyond its attachment to the guitar's top, meaning the entire top of the guitar is free to vibrate can act as a membrane that amplifies the sound made when you pluck or strum the strings. This engineering feat gives guitars with a cantilevered neck an incredibly personal tone. They transmit, with absolute fidelity, every element of the sound you make. In traditionally necked guitars, the neck is typically glued to the body, creating a vibration-free void where acoustic energy simply dies – upon transferring from the body to the neck, it simply has no way back to the sound hole for amplification. Many guitarists also note that this neck design is extremely playable. The fact that the strings must be slightly raised to accommodate the higher neck means you will have an easier time accessing each string with a pick or with your finger. Furthermore, there is no need to worry about aggressive picking damaging the finish of your guitar top – the extra distance makes that far less likely. We here at Heartbreaker are a proud McPherson Guitars Dealer and love helping people "Fall in Love" with these guitars.
