Taylor has a well earned reputation for incredible quality in their instruments, which started with Bob Taylor insisting that everything with the Taylor logo on the headstock would be a quality instrument. With that in mind, Taylor has mostly stuck to producing high-end prooduction guitars. Now, however Taylor has the Academy Series, making that legendary Taylor quality accesible to a whole new group of players.

From beginners looking for a quality first guitar, to the expeirenced veteran player who just wants a Taylor quality instrument with a price tag that won't break the bank, the Academy series is the perfect solution. The Series features several characteristics that make it superior for these purposes:

  • Comfort

Taylor has really put a lot into making these guitars a joy to play. The necks are hyper-engineered to feel easy on the hands and to create a comfortable action and intonation. The Academy Series also come standard with a soundbox bevel for extra-comfort when playing, and it comes equipped with light gauge strings for a slinkier feel.

  • Great Sound

These guitars definitley pack a tonal punch for the price tag. The inntonation is pretty fantastic, the notes ring out clear, and the guitar responds to the players touch really well. In general, they live up to the Taylor name.

  • Versatility

The Academy Series comes in three models, which cover a broad range of musical capabilities. There is the 10e (a Dreadnought) the 12e (a Grand Concert) and the 12e-N (a Nylon String model) and between the three players can find a guitar to tackle almost any style of music!

  • Affordability

The 10e and the 12e run at just under $650 and the 12e-N runs at $699, which is opens up Taylor quality for a far less prohibitive price!
