  • GL-10 : THE LOWDEN ELECTRIC!

    July 07, 2019 2 min read

Lowden Unveils their GL-10 at NAMM 2018!

Back in the beginning of his career as a luthier, George Lowden attempted to make an electric guitar. He had little background in electric guitars, and after the first attempt, left behind the world of solid body electrics. Now, after decades of producing some of the finest acoustic guitars in the world, he has once again decided to delve into the realm of electrics guitars. The difference is this time he is bringing 40 years of experience in the art of building the guitars. The result, the absolutely stunning Lowden GL-10.

George’s decision to create the GL-10 when an artist came to him in 2016 and wanted an electric guitar for his friend’s birthday. George went away a little bit to think about the request, and came back with something special. When the artist played the guitar meant for his friend, he immediately told George he wanted one. That artist’s name: Ed Sheeran. Since then, Sheeran has regularly appeared playing a Wee Lowden!

So now Lowden  Guitars is unveiling a full line of GL-10s, which they brought to NAMM 2018, and the Heartbreaker crew all got to give them a test run. The balance and responsiveness of this guitar is amazing, it practically plays itself. The tone is absolutely delicious, with an amazing, full sound that naturally and effortlessly sustains. The aesthetic is classic Lowden, and breathtakingly elegant.
