Taylor Guitar - Taylor Tuesday - "Excalibur" 514c

Hello friends and welcome back to Taylor Tuesday for a very special edition on a very special Taylor guitar. Today we are going to talk about a very unique Taylor that has quite the impressive history. Rob Cavello's legendary 1996 514c that is nicknamed "Excalibur" for it's tendency to wind up in people's hand's right before they make a hit. Cavello, the legendary producer, says it was the first Taylor he ever owned, and the "Excalibur" 514c has developed quite the reputation as a kingmaker. The guitar was originally dubbed "Excalibur" by Billy Joe after he used it on a little track called "Good Riddance" by a band named Greenday, on their album Nimrod. Some other little ditties this guitar has appeared on is "Iris" by the Goo Goo Dolls, as well as "Second Chance" by Shinedown, Alanis Morissette's "Uninvited", and Eric Clapton's "Blue Eyes Blue". The "Excalibur" 514c has a legendary history, as well as the producer, who like the legendary Merlin in the story it's named for, looks after it and gives it out to people who are ready to make a hit record.
