The Matchless DC-30 was the company’s first amplifier and remains one of its most popular. It delivers 30 watts of power from four EL84 tubes and features two channels, each with its own voice and control layout, giving you a wide range of tones to work with. Its true Class A design produces rich, dynamic sound whether you’re playing clean, slightly driven, or fully saturated. Channel 1 uses two 12AX7 tubes in a parallel-triode setup with interactive bass and treble controls. Channel 2 is built around an EF86 tube and includes a six-position tone switch for quick, easy sound changes.
Other features include a high-cut control and a master volume with a bypass option, letting you better control the overall output. The power section is driven by a 12AX7 phase inverter and offers a choice of rectifier tubes: a single 5AR4 for a tighter feel, or dual 5V4s for a smoother, more relaxed response.
Matchless speakers are modified in-house to produce their signature tone. Each cabinet is voiced to produce the best possible tone for the size and power rating of the unit. They use the best available 11 ply Baltic birch wood and the toughest grade vinyl. Baffle designs are optimally tuned to produce maximum clean headroom and smooth overdrive. This combo has been customized with a Navy cabinet, a Silver grill, and Silver piping.
