This Bourgeois Guitars Victorian Piccolo Parlor model is made with master grade Alpine Swiss Spruce over master grade Aged Tone Curly Maple. The Alpine Swiss Spruce begins as a much brighter white color, and becomes a creamier shade of yellow after being subjected to the torrefaction process of baking the wood. Because Swiss does not contain the high sugar content of Adirondack Spruce, it doesn't darken dramatically as one might see with Adirondack.
“Size-wise, they don’t come smaller. Volume-wise, the Parlor is fuller than ever!”
- Dana Bourgeois
This gorgeous Parlor guitar is a short scale guitar, built to produce a tone that defies its smaller body size. The beautiful Aged Tone Alpine Swiss Spruce and Aged Tone Curly Maple create a sonic experience that contradict the small body, and provide a unique aesthetic that we have come to know from Bourgeois Guitars. Particularly, the Curly Maple back and sides bring out the deeper tones of this small-bodied guitar, and produce a series of low frequencies that allow the tone to expand in a way that defies the body size. For flatpicking or fingerstyle, Blues or Jazz, and any kind of tuning you want, this Piccolo Parlor can do it all, and will become your new favorite!
