The McPherson MG 4.5 is an absolute powerhouse of sound, complimented by the pairing of Bearclaw Sitka with Granadillo back and sides, and strengthened to its fullest potential by McPherson's proprietary structural implementations.
Though not a true member of the Rosewood family, Granadillo is often referred to as "Mexican Rosewood" due to its resonance, clarity, sustain, and bell-like overtones. McPherson's choice to pair this Granadillo with a Sitka top results in a prominent, sonorous, prolonged tonality replete with nuance.
The subtle design elements of McPherson Guitars are fully on display with the MG 4.5. Equipped with McPherson’s signature offset soundhole and cantilevered fingerboard, the soundboard is allowed to resonate freely without the impedance of the neck directly touching the top wood. Additionally, the MG 4.5 boasts an incredibly well balanced tonal spectrum; low frequencies are deep and resonant, high frequencies are responsive, clear, and bright, and midrange frequencies are subtle and unobtrusive.
