We first met Nik Huber in 2017 at the NAMM show, and we were immediately taken aback by the unmistakable quality of his beautiful guitars. At the time, he was so back ordered that he couldn’t take on new dealers. That changed in 2024 when we came into partnership with Mr. Huber.
The Dolphin II Tigereye Burst was unveiled at the 2024 NAMM show, and quickly drew significant attention due to its immense beauty. The stunning Master Grade Flamed Maple top is perfectly complimented by Huber’s “Tigereye” finish, rendering a top replete with shades of gold, black, and burnt red. The Flamed Maple top and Flamed Mahogany back are bound by more Flamed Maple, providing a lovely contrast between the natural color of the Maple on the binding, and the finished color on the top. Possibly the most noteworthy upgrade to this Dolphin II is the inclusion of a gorgeous satin Brazilian Rosewood neck and fingerboard that was harvested in the 1960’s, highlighted by an inlaid piece of Maple that extends from the neck joint to the top of the headstock. Further customized with Sterling Silver Crown inlays on the fingerboard, Maple pickup surrounds, a finished headstock that matches the top, and gold hardware, this is one of the most visually stunning guitars that has ever come through our shop. Additionally, the body of this Dolphin II is chambered for the purposes of creating an instrument with unbelievable balance and comfortability for the player.
