A milestone by any measure! This Model 1 was originally released in 2009 as part of the 30th Anniversary series produced by Rick Turner Guitars. Purchased by the owner of Heartbreaker Guitars, the guitar has never been gigged and is in exceptional condition. The guitar was modified by the Rick Turner team in Santa Cruz to include a Piezo bridge as well as the updated D-TAR Eclipse card that is imbued into modern Model 1’s, making it unique from its other 30th Anniversary counterparts.
The Model 1 is one of the most unique electric guitars that has ever been produced, and comes along with a fascinating story about its inception. In the late 1970s, Fleetwood Mac frontman Lindsey Buckingham was seeking an electric guitar that would better suit his unique fingerstyle technique and ended up explaining his predicament to Rick Turner, who had met with Fleetwood Mac during the "Rumours" sessions to do some work on John McVie's bass. In 1979, when his initial prototypes of the Model 1 were complete, Rick presented the guitar to Lindsey as Fleetwood Mac were rehearsing for the "Tusk" tour. Lindsey immediately fell in love with it, and it became his primary stage guitar, and still is today.
