The Rick Turner Renaissance RS6 with Port Orford Cedar over Mahogany is a lightweight stage acoustic guitar handmade in Santa Cruz, California by Rick Turner. These guitars reproduce full frequency acoustic tone for recording and performing. The thinline body is built like a fine acoustic guitar, but with an added Cedar center block to cut feedback. A Turner Timberline piezo bridge pickup feeds full spectrum signals to an 18v D-TAR Wavelength preamp. Constructed like true acoustic instruments, with bent sides and a braced tone wood top and back, the Renaissance series truly represents the best way to achieve acoustic tone plugged in.
For those unfamiliar with Port Orford Cedar, it is a rare, hard variety of Cypress, very light in weight with incredible strength. It fashions and fabricates with no issues and finishes with a glass like smoothness and amazing stability. It is ideal for tops, backs & sides, and necks. It is also amazingly resonant with tonal qualities second to none. The sound is similar to Redwood, a bit less bright with full rich sound and harmonic development.
