Furch: Edition 40 Gc-LX

Furch celebrates two incredible milestones with 40 Limited Edition Gc-LX Guitars and they'll be available from Heartbreaker Guitars!  Prepare for the Furch Edition 40!

Little did anyone know how high the plant would grow from the small seed planted forty years ago.  On September 2th of 1981, Frentesek Furch built his very first instrument in his parent’s laundry room.  Since then, the company has progressed to become known world-wide as a respected guitar builder, creating some of the highest quality acoustic guitars found in the market. 

At first glance, nearly everyone can see the incredible craftsmanship inside the entire Furch line.  Their combination of precision machinery and personal touches result in a premium instrument.  From the beginning, Furch has prided themselves on using the highest quality materials to construct their guitars, giving them a complete, balanced, wonderful sound.  Combine these efforts with their innovative steps with soundboard voicing, UV finishes, the Furch CNR System and their recent addition of the antibacterial finish, and they’ve given the public an absolutely amazing selection of guitars.  Four decades later, Frentesek and his now successful company Furch Guitars have reached the production of their 100,00^th guitar, and they’re sharing this celebration with loyal Furch customers.

In honor of their recent milestones, Furch is creating 40 pieces of the “Edition Forty Gc-LX” from serial number 100,000 to 100,039.  Existing customers will be available for purchase to 39 of these limited edition models, with the first being reserved for display inside the Velke Nemcice Museum.  With the limited run and the eminence these guitars hold for Furch, eligibility to purchase will be limited to current owners of Furch guitars who qualify through the proper application process.  A simple form with some customer and purchase information is all that will need to filled out, which is already been sent to Heartbreaker Guitars. 

The unique 40^th anniversary guitar has just been unveiled  and is expected to receive a great number of applications in a short amount of time.  What we have been told is the wood obtained for the back and sides of the 39 customer guitars has come from an old ash tree that grew in the factory yard, which was cut down and harvested when Furch reconstructed their work area.  Years later, through the natural drying process, each set was hand selected from the best cuts of wood to make the Edition Forty Gc-LX.  Other features include the Grand Auditorium body shape with cutaway, unique top and back voicing process, perfectly resonant Full-Pore High-Gloss Finish with sunburst, and ergonomic feature bevel duo and it comes with a premium Hiscox hardshell case.

Upgrade options will also be available to qualifying customers, including equipping an LR Baggs pickup system.  More details on this to come!
