Heartbreaker Guitars presents: the Lowden Guitars 2018 Winter Limited Edition in Sitka Spruce over Tiger Myrtle

The announcement was just recently made that Lowden Guitars has released their 2018 Winter Limited Edition. If I were limited to telling you one thing, it’d be how excited I am to see this guitar in person as impressive as the pictures are. This guitar is exquisite.

The Lowden Guitars 2018 Winter Limited Edition in Tiger Myrtle and Sitka Spruce is on it’s way to the public.  Brendan and his Heartbreaker Guitars here in the beautiful Las Vegas, Nevada, are a proud Lowden Guitars dealer and are excited to share this news. Lowden’s Myrtle supply will produce only 25 versions of this specialty and before I jump into the technical aspects of this art piece, take a look and listen for yourself.

This will be available in the O, F, S and Wee Lowden body shapes. Making up the back and sides will be the most eye-catching aspect of this guitar, the striped Tiger Myrtle. Every piece of Tiger Myrtle has it’s own, unique color pattern with its deep and rich red, orange, brown and pink colors. It is quite possibly the rarest of the Myrtle colour variations. You’d be correct in assuming Lowden wouldn’t sacrifice beauty for sound with this tone wood having a superb audio quality.

In combination with the beautiful Myrtle is a Lowden favorite on top; the Sitka Spruce, known for it’s strong, focused tone. To add even more elegance to this guitar, for their binding Lowden has chosen Figured Maple. The neck is a five piece mahogany construction with lengthwise-running Rosewood splices. The fretboard is bound in ebony and maple and features the addition of Ancient Bog Oak. The neck can also be entirely Figured Maple if the vendor chooses, as well as include leaf fretboard inlays. Other available custom options include a cutaway, soundbox bevel, Robson 510 Tuners to replace the standard Gotoh 510 gold tuners with ebony buttons for this model and a 38 style soundboard inlay for a finishing touch of craftsmanship.

 LR Baggs electronics can be built in at the vendor’s request as well and each Winter Edition comes standard with it’s own, custom Lowden hard case.
