Santa Cruz Co. Catfish Special

Hello friends and welcome back to another Heartbreaker Guitars Blog posting! Today we are discussing a really special guitar from Richard Hoover and the boys over at Santa Cruz Guitar Co. We just started carrying Santa Cruz this last year and have been blown away with the amazing instruments they have sent our way. This one in particular is truly fantastic! We are of course talking about the Catfish Special! 

Santa Cruz Co. Catfish Special

This instrument is an absolute beauty we are proud to have it in our collection here at Heartbreaker guitars, and it might just break our heart when we have to send it to it's new home. This guitar is modeled after the custom job Richard Hoover did for world renowned blues guitarist Catfish Keith, essentially a 1929 O made from all mahogany. After Catfish's performance at Santa Cruz Guitars 40th anniversary, people were clamoring for more info on the little guitar he played that sounded more full than most dreadnoughts. 

The crew over at Santa Cruz quickly realized they probably had a hit on their hands, so they buckled down on a signature version for production, and this is the result. A body made entirely of figured mahogany, with gorgeous ivoroid binding. The wood and sunburst gloss finish on this guitar are truly breathtaking.

We of course took this guitar for a little test drive and, well, it sounds freaking SWEET!
