The Taylor 710e Western Sunburst features a Lutz Spruce Top over Indian Rosewood Back and Sides. This wood combination not only lends itself to the vintage look, but also the vintage tone of this guitar. In general it this guitar gives you the best of both worlds. It looks and sounds like something built in the heyday of the classic Western Guitar Era, but plays and feels like a modern, comfortable guitar. The Tropical Mahogany neck is capped with an Ebony fingerboard. The fingerboard is set with the beautiful Abalone Reflection pattern from Taylor. The neck also has a slight V-carve profile that gives a distinctly Taylor feel, but with slightly larger dimensions that appeal to fans of classic Dreadnought action. The headstock overlay is done in Ebony, and the headstock is slotted for a vintage tuning setup. This also creates a slinkier feel, combined with the slightly shorter 24 7/8" scale length really invites the player up the neck. The rosette is made from Herringbone, and the pick-guard is a Weathered Brown. The nut is made from Tusq, and the saddle is Micarta. The soundbox is a comfortable 4 5/8" inches, but it still has plenty of depth to resonate well. This guitar is a really powerful sounding guitar, with warm lows and well balanced highs.
