Hello everyone and welcome to another Heartbreaker Guitars blog where we get to discuss the truly fantastic instruments that our luthiers create and that we get to sell. From fantastically built and engineered Lowdens, to the breathtaking tonal beasts that come out of the Rick Turner shop in Santa Cruz, and everything in between. We really believe in the guitars we sell, and we love helping you "Fall in Love" with them!
Today we have a really special guitar from Santa Cruz Guitar Co. and we can't wait to dive right into it! The guitar is the...
So this is it. The Firefly in the flesh... or wood... or whatever! It's HERE! The Firefly from Santa Cruz Guitar Company is a much heralded guitar that has been lighting up the guitar world. People have described it as not just one of the best small bodied guitars they have played, but simply one of the best guitars they have ever played.
The Firefly is made from reclaimed Rosewood back and sides and a Redwood top with a Koa rosette. Absolutely gorgeous. Try not to drool to much. The top is also carefully crafted with variable thickness to increase the responsiveness and the sustain. This guitar practically plays itself.
Aesthetically this guitar is classic Santa Cruz. Simple, classy, and elegant. The wood speaks for itself both tonally and aesthetically. It is complimented with the koa accents and binding as well as the ebony features and appointments on the guitar.

Now you may notice this guitar has a slightly shorter scale length than the average guitar. It also has a body that is almost 3" thinner at the lower bout than say the D series from Santa Cruz. But one fact that is often overlooked is that it has the same depth in the body as the D series. This isn't a parlor guitar, or travel guitar. Don't ever let anyone tell you, "It's sounds pretty good for a 'little' guitar." It sounds good for any guitar, and it has incredible response and depth in its tone. This guitar is a powerhouse in its own right, no patronizing remarks required.
We aren't the only ones that think so either. Check out this review from Guitar Player Magazine and see what they had to say about this amazing instrument. It's an incredible guitar! It also doesn't break the bank. It rings in at $5,355.00 which, for a genuine Santa Cruz, is a pretty incredible deal!
So don't wait! Be the one that gets to take this girl to the dance and buy it today by clicking the link here! We here at Heartbreaker Guitars guarantee you won't be disappointed!
